New to iOS 11 – Screen Recording!

Now I know there are plenty of apps and hardware that makes screen recording on your iPhone possible. For me – it still wasn’t accessible enough, until now!

With the new iOS 11 update from Apple, you can now screen record whatever you want on your phone (be careful, even Snapchats can be recorded and you won’t even know!).

A quick step by step on how to access it:

Go to your Settings.
Scroll slightly to ‘Control Center’. Here you can decide what is accessible when you ‘swipe up’ on your phone.

Drag or select the green plus sign to add Screen Recording to your Control Center.

Once you have added it, to access and utilize:
Swipe up from the bottom.
This gives you 3 seconds to get yourself set up for what you want to record.

Move through what you want to record, essentially using the phone the exact same way.
Click the red bar that shows up on the top of the screen to then select ‘Stop Recording.’

This will then save the clip to your camera roll. To edit the screen record:
Go to My Photos, or wherever you have videos saved.
Select ‘Edit’ to drag portions of the video you want to save.
I have found it handy to edit out the beginning part when I start recording, as well as the end part when I stop recording.

From there – the possibilities are endless! You can add the videos to Instagram, Instragram stories, etc. I’ve found it handy for recording gifs and finally getting them to be good quality on my Instagram story.
