Iā€™ve had some hard days recently. Iā€™ve wanted Iā€™ve had some hard days recently. Iā€™ve wanted to crawl in my deep cave of sadness and let it wash over me fully until I couldnā€™t see the surface. Instead, Iā€™ve been trying to float myself in some minor form of contentment in various forms: good food, moments of rest, and in this instance, reminding myself of the wonderment that comes with doing things you used to do when you were a kid. My problems arenā€™t fixed, but at least for a few hours I could distract my brain with silly fish and majestic turtles and leave feeling a little bit better than I did before. šŸ’• #newportaquarium #aquarium #fisharefriendsnotfood

Itā€™s funny how when you meet someone youā€™re so Itā€™s funny how when you meet someone youā€™re so completely comfortable with you donā€™t even have to think - which can be good and bad. I donā€™t even specifically remember falling in love, I just was. There was no big moment of realization after a build up, it just was there. I didnā€™t have to hide my insecurities or thoughts from the beginning. He had all of me, and vice versa from the beginning. This is not to say that marriage isnā€™t work - trust me it is - but itā€™s a different kind of work. Itā€™s not having to prove myself worthy of his love, or change who I am to for his mold. It is, however, a balance of compromise and constructive push back. Itā€™s playing on each others strengths and weaknesses. Itā€™s identifying the sensitive topics, chores, and issues openly and with grace. 5 years of marriage has felt like a flash and a lifetime all at once - especially recently. Weā€™ve grown so much as individuals and as a couple - and frankly Iā€™m proud of us. Weā€™ve dealt with water leaks and money scares and health journeys (both his and mine, ahem kidney stones the night before our weddingā€¦) but weā€™ve handled them with the sole goal of working as a team with God right in the center of it all. Marrying my best friend is all I ever could have asked for and more. No one has ever known and will ever know be better - honestly more than myself most of the time. Yesterday after 10+ years of excruciating pain, 2 Yesterday after 10+ years of excruciating pain, 2 years of blood tests, ultrasounds, and countless doctors visits - I was finally able to get surgery for endometriosis, as well as other findings. God truly has had his hand in the orchestrating of finally finding answers for me. From the timing of my first doctors visit with a more holistic and God honoring doctor, to her referral to a fertility specialist and rockstar surgeon, to the quick turnaround in surgery scheduling - it has all been Gods doing. I am beyond blessed to also have received sugh immense support from all of my friends, family and church family. Your prayers did not go unnoticed and I appreciate them more than words. In the end - trust in His timing and donā€™t be afraid to advocate for yourself and your health. If something doesnā€™t feel ā€™rightā€™ say something until a valid solution is found. The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let the dead things go. How itā€™s okay to move into the next season gradually, but come out the other end anew. The breezes will come and go, and on the way they will weave loss and freedom simultaneously into the foliage, but also our lives. Itā€™s no wonder I start to feel alive again in the fall. The weight of all the cyclical and gloom filled thoughts that I started the year with float down out of my mind and leave a clear and content feeling. All of my problems are not solved - they still remain on the ground and need to be picked up and either solved or disposed of. However, my problems feel less cumbersome and more of a necessary part of the passage of time. With the first leaves cascading down and the crisp air gusting in - a period of gratification, jubilation and camaraderie starts to make an appearance. #happyfall #fallthoughts #homedesign #homedecoration #grandmillennialdecor #transitionaldesign

I wish I could tell little Hannah that laying on t I wish I could tell little Hannah that laying on the cold bathroom floor in excruciating pain in the middle of the night wouldnā€™t become familiar. I wish I could tell her that chewing up Advil in the middle school nurses office was normal. I wish I could tell her that taking birth control would fix the problem. I wish I could tell her that after endless and countless cycles of pain, unbearable bloating, and constant fatigue it would all eventually go away. I wish I could tell her that there is a positive ending resulting in pain free days and a few children. But I canā€™t tell her that. Because I donā€™t know. I can have hope. I can have faith. But I canā€™t know. Not yet. A few things I do know: I have one diagnosis of PCOS. I also have a pending diagnosis of endometriosis with required surgery. I know that I am being told that this is my option, and this is my solution. Iā€™m being told to take countless supplements, eat this and not that, sleep this much, but donā€™t do this. I am being told that what Iā€™m doing is enough, but there always seems to be ā€˜moreā€™ that I could be doing. I know that I am sad. I know that I am scared. I know that there will be a light at the end. Someday. Hopefully? I know that I have more knowledge about my body than I ever wanted to know, but I have some solutions to maybe ā€˜helpā€™. I know that my body will never function normally. I know that I will never have endless energy, a thin waist, and clear skin. I know that who I am physically does not define who I am as a person - even though it consumes majority of my time and thoughts. I know I wonā€™t stop sharing about my journey, because I find comfort in getting my feelings out in the world instead of holding them in. Faith is easy when nothing goes wrong. Hope is everywhere when sorrow is far away. Unknowns are sometimes more comforting than a definitive ā€˜yesā€™ or ā€˜noā€™. One day little, Hannah.
