Current Beauty Favorites

I’ve never been super adventurous with beauty products but I do LOVE to try new things. I have certain aspects of my routine that I keep very simple and easy (i.e. brushing my teeth, brushing my hair.) However, I have struggled with acne since I was a teenager so skin care has always been my #1. I am no expert, but I have found some products that I feel help manage my ridiculously temperamental mess of a face.

To start, I went through a prescribed Accutane regime twice a few years back. My skin was full of cystic acne that covered my face, neck, and back. No matter what I did it wouldn’t go away. I’ll make another post about my Accutane journey – but for now, here are some of my go-to products for my oily skin and hair.

First up,

amika
amika TREAT, STYLE, EXTEND. 500 Points

This set of amika products was actually a reward I received with my points from Sephora. I saved them up because some of the smaller point gifts weren’t my favorite. Boy am I glad I did! This is the BEST dry shampoo I have ever used. Previously I have used Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo (which is a powder), and Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo. I don’t dislike either of these but the Drybar one is expensive and goes fast, and the Alterna powder can leave a slight residue (ew).

This amika dry shampoo leaves no residue, does not feel oily, and you get way more in the bottle for the same price as the Drybar! Plus – the bottle design is super cute and I’m a sucker for judgin’ a book by it’s cover.

This reward includes:

GLAMGLOW
#Multimasking Mask Treatment Set
$42.00

I live off of free samples when it comes to facemasks. My face needs can change with the weather, my health, etc. Previously, about 3 years ago I splurged and bought the GlamGlow Youthmud while on a cruise ship (duty-free, hey!) and amazingly I still have some left. It’s pretty harsh for my skin but I love to use it when I need a good “rip all my skin off and start over” kind of mask.

Therefore, I was super excited to find this little set for the fraction of the price of one jar. Granted, I think I will only get 2-3 uses out of each little tube but it’s a start. I have never #multimasked before so this is a fun little set to give them all a try!

This set contains:

OLEHENRIKSEN
Balance It All™ Essentials Set
$34.00

This Ole Henriken set I actually received as a free promotion from a site called Influenster. It’s a free service that measures your ‘impact’ score to decide if you fit their profile and have enough of a reach to try the products. I’ve received quite a few VoxBoxes from Influenster and I have to say – I’m hooked.

This Ole Henriken set was SUPER exciting to receive as these full size bottles range fairly high priced for my budget. Although I love skin care items – I hate the price. Regardless, this set has actually turned out to be one of my favorites. The smell is minty and fresh and it truly makes my skin fell less oily and cleansed. I will definitely be purchasing this set in the future.
