“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.”

-Roald Dahl

I love this quote for so many reasons I can’t even begin to explain to you. It can refer to my love life (or lack thereof currently), my love of books, my enthusiasm to travel, or my path to grow in my faith.

We spend so many hours and minutes just halfheartedly middling through tasks. I write my term papers with hopes of just passing. I pray with my inner voice monotonously reciting what I think I should say. I eat my lunch just because I have to. I drive to the same place every day without enjoying the ride.

Heck. We need to eat the crap out of our lunch enjoying every second of it. Pray like it’s our last moment on Earth. Embrace and cherish our friendships and relationships with a burning fire.

We only get so many seconds here on earth – 524,554,080 seconds if you live to be 80. Why waste those precious moments being angsty and ungrateful?

We have been a given pretty fantastic gift. Use that gift to its full potential and to its last drop.
